Our stylish door and wall makeover at Jumeriah Island uses premium vinyl wraps to create a modern, durable, and easy-to-maintain finish. This upgrade enhances interiors with a fresh look that blends beauty and functionality.
At Paloma Tower, we embarked on an extensive door and kitchen wrapping project aimed at giving the space a modern, clean, and sleek appearance. By utilizing high-quality vinyl for both the doors and kitchen surfaces, we successfully transformed the apartment’s aesthetic while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance. Below is the detailed process we followed for the Door Wrap and Kitchen Wrapping project at Paloma Tower.
The project kicked off with an initial consultation where we explored the client’s vision for the doors and kitchen surfaces. The client at Paloma Tower desired a contemporary and minimalist look for both areas, featuring a smooth finish and neutral tones. After reviewing various options, they opted for a high-quality matte vinyl for the kitchen surfaces and a gloss white vinyl for the doors, aiming to create a bright and airy atmosphere throughout the space.
During this consultation, we also took precise measurements of the doors and kitchen surfaces to ensure we had the right amount of vinyl and a perfect fit for each area. We evaluated the condition of both the doors and kitchen cabinetry to confirm they were suitable for wrapping.
Thorough surface preparation is essential for ensuring the vinyl adheres properly and achieves a seamless finish. For the doors and kitchen surfaces at Paloma Tower, we started by meticulously cleaning each surface to eliminate dust, oils, grease, and other residues that could hinder the vinyl’s adhesion. Our team employed specialized cleaning agents to guarantee that the surfaces were free from any contaminants.
After cleaning, we inspected the surfaces for any imperfections such as scratches, dents, or minor damage. Any small flaws on the doors or kitchen cabinets were filled, sanded, and smoothed out to ensure a flawless finish once the vinyl was applied.
After preparing the surfaces, we proceeded to choose the vinyl wrap material. The client opted for a glossy white finish for the doors, which reflects light beautifully and brightens the space. For the kitchen cabinets, a matte finish was selected to achieve a modern, clean aesthetic that complements the overall design of the apartment.
We made sure to use high-quality vinyl that is durable, moisture-resistant, and heat-resistant, making it ideal for high-traffic areas like doors and kitchens. The vinyl was then cut to the precise measurements of each door and kitchen surface, ensuring a perfect fit and reducing waste.
To start, we removed the doors from their hinges and the cabinet doors from their frames. This step allowed us to apply the vinyl more effectively without any interference from hardware like handles, locks, or hinges. At Paloma Tower, we took care to label each door to ensure proper reinstallation.
Next, we prepared the kitchen cabinetry. This often involved taking off any hardware, such as handles or knobs. We also made sure that the cabinet frames and surfaces were clean and smooth, ready for the vinyl application.
Once the surfaces were prepped and cleaned, we moved on to cutting the vinyl to the exact dimensions of each door and kitchen cabinet. This required precise measurements to ensure the vinyl would fit seamlessly over every door panel and cabinet surface.
We paid special attention to the unique dimensions of the doors at Paloma Tower, ensuring that the vinyl would align perfectly with the corners, edges, and other features. The vinyl was then cut to size with minimal waste, ready for application.
With the vinyl cut to size, the next step was to apply it. For the doors at Paloma Tower, we started by positioning the vinyl over each door panel, carefully aligning it with the edges. We slowly peeled off the adhesive backing as we applied the material, beginning from one corner and gradually working our way across the door.
Using a heat gun, we softened the vinyl, making it easier to mold around the edges and contours of the door. This technique also helps activate the adhesive, ensuring the vinyl adheres securely to the surface. We used squeegees to smooth out the vinyl and eliminate any air bubbles or wrinkles.
Once the doors were finished, we moved on to wrapping the kitchen cabinets. This process is similar to the door wrap but involves larger surfaces, so we worked methodically, applying the vinyl one section at a time.
We began by aligning the vinyl wrap on the cabinet panels, ensuring a perfect fit. Using the heat gun, we carefully heated the vinyl to ensure it adhered well to the kitchen surfaces and molded around any edges or grooves. The team used squeegees and cloths to smooth out any air pockets, ensuring a flawless finish across the entire kitchen cabinetry.
After applying the vinyl, the next step was to trim the excess material from the edges of the doors and kitchen cabinets. At Paloma Tower, we used precision blades to carefully trim the vinyl around the corners and edges of the doors, as well as around any cutouts for handles, hinges, or other hardware.
For the kitchen, we paid special attention to the areas around countertops, edges, and appliance spaces to ensure the vinyl fit perfectly and looked seamless. All excess vinyl was trimmed away, leaving clean, crisp lines that enhanced the overall finish.
With the doors and kitchen cabinets back in place, we performed a detailed final inspection to confirm that the vinyl wrapping was impeccable. We looked for any bubbles, wrinkles, or seams that might have been missed. At Paloma Tower, we focused particularly on the transitions between the door edges, cabinet frames, and appliances, ensuring the vinyl was smooth and securely adhered.
We made any necessary minor adjustments and ensured that the finish was consistent throughout, giving the doors and kitchen a cohesive, high-end look.
Once the project of Kitchen And Door Wrap was finished and the client was pleased with the transformation, we conducted a final walkthrough at Paloma Tower. We provided guidance on the proper maintenance and care for the newly wrapped doors and kitchen surfaces.
Vinyl-wrapped surfaces are simple to clean and maintain, and we shared tips on avoiding harsh chemicals that could harm the vinyl. We also recommended steering clear of excessive heat or sharp objects that could scratch the surface, helping to ensure the longevity of the wrap.
